I haven't recorded any MP3s since last November, mainly because I haven't had any success with getting a decent signal between my amplifier and my PC. I finally buckled down and overcame my concern about a direct connection between my guitar and my PC blowing up my soundcard, so I gave it a try and voila! I can finally record MP3s again!
This is a Spanish Capricho I've been learning since, I think, February. My teacher and I have since moved on to other studies while I continue refining this piece. Bear in mind, it's still very rough in a few spots, especially the last few measures where the melody gets inverted. There's also a chord progression at the end that I'm having some trouble with. But, it's a beautiful piece, and I love playing it, so I'm eager to keep improving on it.
Last night's lesson went exceptionally well. Last week, after playing through Capricho - and fumbling like mad (grrrr) - my teacher and I talked about ideas for improvement. At the end of the lesson, he challenged me to get it to a point where I could play straight through without any mistakes. Last night, I did, and only fumbled TWICE! I've still got a couple of places where I pause for a moment to get my fingers where they need to be, but it was much improved from last week!
I told him that I'd like some extra time to refine it. Meanwhile, he's assigned me a new piece to start working on: Romanza, by Anonymous.
Damn I feel great!
