Duet Eight is fairing along, though I'm not yet where I need to be. I'm putting too much thought into stopping the bass notes on the rests that begin each measure, and not allowing the natural motion of my thumb strumming the next string down to stop the string above it. I realize you may be finding it hard to picture that image, but it's the best description of what I'm doing that I can come up with right now.
I also need to work more on maintaining a consistant arpeggio. To do this, I'll be practicing with my metronome in such a way as to play each note with each beat. Doing so will help me develop a more controlled, yet fluid technique.
My teacher gave me a copy of a collection of exercises to photocopy and return to him. The collection was given to him by a Spanish guitarist who taught him classical guitar while he was in Spain, many years ago, and is irreplaceable. He told me to guard it with my life until I return it to him next week, but that he wanted me to have a copy of the same studies to practice as I continue learning and progressing. I'm honored by his trust in me. We've built a wonderful report, and I'm looking forward to several years of instruction by him.
